YIN YOGA

Taught by: Nieves Menchero

Yin yoga is a relaxed style, very slow, ideal to eliminate tension, reduce stress, release stiffness and blockage and to be able to soften and loosen our whole body. You will work your flexibility not only muscular, but also in the deeper tissues; ligaments, joints, connective tissues and fasciae. This will help you, if you practice very energetic, intense and active sports, to prevent injuries derived from other sports disciplines.

During the practice of Yin Yoga, floor postures are generally performed and maintained over time in order to stretch the deepest tissues, oxygenating and hydrating them.

YOGALATES

Taught by: Ismael Monteagudo.

We will combine asanas or static exercises of various levels of yoga, along with other much more dynamic Pilates. We will conclude the class with a special relaxation.

The importance of the Vagus Nerve takes prominence in our time for several reasons being the most important of the cranial nerves that come out of the brainstem and being related to the main vital organs and especially for its action on the nervous system by facilitating the correct balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic. Situations such as frequent stress, traumas, fears and other situations that alter our daily life can be directly related to the difficulties to activate this amazing control mechanism that we have.

We will learn a good number of exercises and practices that in a few minutes will achieve the activation and recomposition for this good communication and its extraordinary effects on the emotional, mental and physiological health of our wonderful anatomy. Suitable for all levels and highly recommended for parents, educators, teachers, physiotherapists, yoga and Pilates instructors, as well as psychologists and health care workers.

Doing yoga can be really beneficial to better cope with all those changes going on inside and outside of you, making you connect in a deeper way with your baby. Yoga will help you to soften stressful moments, to enjoy and focus on the present moment, to relax, to stay fit, strong and healthy and to improve flexibility, very useful especially in the uterus area to ease contractions and facilitate the baby’s exit at the time of delivery.

The ideal types of yoga for pregnancy, if you also do not have a regular practice, is hatha yoga, since static and safe postures are practiced with modifications for pregnancy. Being pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t exercise; in fact, it is imperative that you keep moving and maintain a healthy lifestyle and yoga offers strength, flexibility and relaxation.

In this class we will offer modifications for the different trimesters of pregnancy so you can adapt your yoga practice as your belly grows. You will be amazed at the number of yoga postures you can do.

They connect with each asana (posture) in a very different way at each stage. Feeling how session after session they delve a little deeper into the path of yoga and its positive discipline. Through games, stories and songs they explore their body, their senses and their emotions. 

Together with the handicrafts, the practice becomes a place of calm and tranquility, thus promoting their attention, creativity and self-esteem.

 This talk is for you, if you are concerned about your well-being and that of your family.

We will talk about different ways to help you empower yourself and be responsible for your own well-being.

FACIAL YOGA

Facial Yoga is a practice that consists of a series of stretches, movements through exercises and facial massage, always accompanied by conscious breathing.

This helps to tone and relax the muscles of the face.

As a result, the circulation and oxygenation of the skin increases, resulting in a more lively and radiant skin.

 

 If you are going to sign up for the facial yoga workshop here are some recommendations to keep in mind:

– It is very important not to wear make-up.

– Bring a tank top or a T-shirt with a wide neckline. 

– Socks to be in the room

– Tie your hair up or wear a headband

– Bring a medium-sized dressing table mirror

Your body and mind are immersed in the sounds and vibration of the instruments, reaching a high level of relaxation and meditation that will help you reduce stress, anxiety, reduce pain, increase the immune system, among other benefits.

MEDITATION AND MANTRAS

As the Buddhist tradition says, our “monkey mind” jumps from branch to branch and does not stop. We do, think, control, organize, plan and feed second by second that constant mental noise. Thus, the essence of meditation is nothing more than to calm and reduce this mental noise. By installing ourselves in the pause, in the silence, in the deep mental rest. Meditation is not about leaving the mind blank, but about training it to direct and control the material inside our mind.

We will begin with an introduction to meditation in which we will talk about the various traditions and the different techniques for meditating. We will perform a relaxation to prepare the body and mind to the practice of meditation with breathing exercises and stretching that will make us connect with our body and our emotions. The workshop is designed for you to experience different meditation techniques so we will do short but deep practices (mental calm, guided meditation, visualization).

Finally, we will do a meditation with mantra chanting, one of the most traditional and beautiful techniques. The word mantra means “tool of the mind”, it helps us to concentrate and calm the mind. It helps us to concentrate and calm the mind. It consists of repeating a short phrase (it can be a prayer or a set of words that convey a purpose or an idea), when you say it out loud, either as a chant or as a phrase, the mind relaxes and concentrates on the present moment. During our workshop, we will introduce you to the most popular mantras of the Buddhist and Hindu tradition and we will finish by performing a Kirtan, a mantra chant in which a very special atmosphere is created.
