Community division standars

Beginers / Scaled +/ Master Scaled

Athletes in this division are supposed to have little or very little experience in CrossFit and this might be their first or maybe second experience in CrossFit. The scaled division is designed for athletes with some control of the basic  movements of gymnastics, powerlifting & weightlifting with several holes in their fitness, specially advanced movements or heavy lifting. Typically they scale most if not all workouts at their affiliate, during The 2022 Open workouts.

Some examples of minimum requirements for the SCALED division:

Pull-Ups, Hanging Knee Raises, Burpees, Push-Ups.

Snatch 40/30kg – 90/65 lbs (several sound reps).

Clean & Jerk  60/40kg – 135/90 lbs (several sound reps).

Proficiency performing several unbroken reps of any given movement with 17.5/10kg  – 40/25 lbs dumbbells.

Some examples of movements that will be not be programmed in the SCALED division:

Chest-to-bar Pull-Up, Ring/Bar Muscle-Up, Pistol squats.

Differences between Beginners and Scaled+:

The difference between these two categories is undoubtedly marked by experience in competitions, although both categories will have the same requirements as a reference and the tests to be carried out will be in most cases the same, what should determine if I go to one or the other is the confidence and experience that the team has in competitions. If you normally compete with ease in Scaled, your place is undoubtedly Scaled +, in contrast you feel that the team is still establishing itself in the competition, or it is the first one you attend, Congratulations!! We have created Beginners Division just for Teams like yours.

Madrid Championship is a Fitness party where the whole community has a place, from the most experienced to those who are new to the competition with us.

If you have +35 but still don’t feel ready to make the jump to intermediate, your place is in Master Scaled.

Intermediate / Advance + / Master intermediate / Tens

Athletes in this division are supposed to have some experience in functional fitness competitions and an intermediate level of fitness. The Intermediate division is created for those athletes with a fine control of the basic movements in gymnastics, powerlifting & weightlifting but with some holes in their general fitness, specially in very advanced movements or very heavy lifting. Typically these athletes are able to perform some of The Open workouts as prescribed, although not achieving great results in their national leaderboard.

This one could be their first competition, however, here are some minimum requirements to compete in this category:

Chest-to-bar Pull-Up, Double Under, Toe-to-bar, Handstand Push-Up (kipping), Rope Climb.

Snatch 60/40kg – 135/90 lbs (2-3 sound reps).

Clean & Jerk 80/60kg – 180/135 lbs (2-3 sound reps).

Proficiency performing several unbroken reps of any given movement with 22.5/15 kg  – 50/35 lbs dumbbells.

Some examples of movements that will be not be programmed in the INTERMEDIATE division:

Ring/Bar Muscle-Up, Legless Rope Climb, Pistol squats.

Differences between Intermediate and Advance +:

The difference between these two categories is marked by your performance in competitions and your expectations, although both categories will have the same requirements as a reference and the tests will be in most cases the same, which should determine whether I go to one or the other it is the confidence and experience that the team has in competitions. If I am about to make the leap to Rx, if last year I was in the first half of the table in this category in the Madrid Championship, if I want to compete with the best in my Level; Advance must be the choice for my team.

If, on the contrary, you feel that the team is still establishing itself in this Division of the competition, or if this year you are going to make the leap and Madrid is the first competition you attend in the Intermediate category, Congratulations!! for you we have The Intermediate Division.

Madrid Championship is a Fitness party where the whole community has a place, from the most experienced to those who are new to the competition with us.

If you are +35 but still do not feel ready to make the leap to Rx or to compete in the INDI Category, your place is in Master Intermediate.

If you are between 16 and 17 years old and want to compete in the Madrid Championship 2023, the standards of this category will be the ones you will have to face.

Master INDI

Athletes in this division must be at least 35 years of age as of 9/Sep/2022. These athletes should be experienced and with a good level of general fitness.
