Volunteers

MAD FITTEST CUP

¡MAD is seeking individuals that love dealing with people! Those in this group will handle responsibilities in areas such as: Athlete Check-in, corralling athletes, security, ushers, greeters, score runners, nameplate crew, etc… These individuals are vital to the all-around MAD Fittest Cup experience and should pride themselves on effective communication. The Director of Volunteers will assign volunteers in these specific roles.

Judging

MAD is looking for volunteer judges to be part of the Team! Our sport relies heavily on the judge’s ability to be fair, accurate and consistent. The quality of the judges at any event is usually indicative of their reputation and, in large part, their success. You will be asked to validate the athletes’ performance by adhering to programmed movement standards, accurate repetition count and finish time. Judging will be your primary responsibility, however, you may also be asked to perform other duties.

Service to the athlete

If you belong to this team of volunteers you will be in charge of supporting all the athletes of the event throughout the competition. This includes check in and check out tasks, if necessary, accompanying them in warm up areas, as well as to the competition track. You will be their first contact with the rest of the teams working and collaborating with the event.

Media

Work as part of the video, photography, social media or broadcast team. This team requires previous experience in a media-related field. Media team volunteers can expect to be on their feet most of the day, but will help us tell the MAD story to the world!

Medical

Nurses, medical assistants, physicians, physical therapists and occupational therapists will fill these positions. These volunteers must be certified in CPR and/or First Aid. On the application, please specify if you would like to be a part of our Athlete Recovery area, which are our physical and occupational therapists; or the Medical Team which is made up of our nurses, PA’s and physicians. These two teams work closely together to treat everyone at the event.

These positions will provide emergency medical support, if needed. Our Medical Director will be contacted if for any reason EMS services are needed.

SCORES

Within the competition team, after the judges’ evaluation of the athletes on the track, the scoring team volunteers use the athletes’ Score Cards to upload the results to the application through the Competition Corner platform, so that they can be followed by the entire audience in real time. In addition, the appropriate claims are managed through the same, according to the indications designated at the beginning of the competition. Part of the scoring team is located on the competition track to collect the athletes’ Score Cards and another part in a computer room for data processing.

Volunteer relations

Help our staff with volunteer registration, workshops, seminars, sponsorships and special assignments. Those who register in this division must be quick and ready to handle any situation that comes their way! The Volunteer Director will assign volunteers in these specific roles.

ATHLETE RECOVERY

Do you have physiotherapy studies? Madrid Championship is looking for you. We have a recovery area for athletes and after the intense WODs of the competition, many athletes with aches and pains come to visit it, so your collaboration helps them to continue with the rest of the event. The area is prepared with stretchers and material necessary for you to develop your work.

TICKETING AND ACCESS CONTROL

There are many people visiting the competition: athletes, partners, volunteers, spectators, coaches, etc. It is therefore very necessary an exhaustive control of entrances through the main accesses, as well as in restricted areas for certain people. This team of volunteers monitors and coordinates compliance with the rules of the venue, as well as those issued by the event management.

Equipment

The production of this event requires the movement of large loads, long distances, quickly. Those in this group can expect physical elements such as heavy lifting, repeated bending, stretching and light running. This is a very crucial role with responsibilities that are essential to the job in an effort to ensure our event runs smoothly and on time. You may be asked to perform other similar duties outside of this scope.
